SEAN AND CHARLOTTE ( MailOnline)

Brotherly love: Heartbroken Sean Brosnan posts pictures of his beloved sister Charlotte taken before she died from the same disease that killed their mom

By Sara Nathan

Devastated Sean Brosnan today posted pictures of his sister Charlotte taken before she died from the same cancer that killed their mother.
The 29-year-old actor and producer didn't pen a message to Charlotte, who died aged 41 on June 28 following a three-year battle with ovarian cancer.
However, the pictures he put on his Facebook page said more than a million words and showed the siblings smiling for the camera while Charlotte was quite clearly going through cancer treatment.

Wearing a bandana and a smart trilby hat on her head to cover up her hair loss, Charlotte was wreathed in smiles as her younger brother hoisted her up into his arms.
The pair also posed up with Charlotte's young son Lucas, eight, and the pictures show them covering the little boy in kisses. Charlotte also has a daughter, Isabella, 14.
Charlotte and Sean shared a mom - Australian actress Cassandra Harris who played a Bond girl in For Your Eyes Only - however, Sean's father is James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, while Charlotte's father was Dermot Harris.
Cassandra died following a four-year battle with ovarian cancer in December 1991 aged 43, and by that time Pierce, 60, had already adopted her son Chris, 40, and daughter Charlotte following the death of their father in 1983.

'We just clicked as a family,' Mr Brosnan said in an earlier interview. 'To begin with I was Pierce, then I was Daddy Pierce, and then I just became Dad. Charlotte and Chris have just been amazing in my life.'
Charlotte battled drug dependency and depression in her early 30s following a temporary split from a long-term partner. Three years ago, she was diagnosed with the same disease that had claimed her mother's life.
On Friday, the 41-year-old mother of two died in London. Her father Pierce said: 'On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer,.
'She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean.
'Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon," the actor continues. "We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.'

Sean is now an actor after training at London's prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama and has recently produced a string of films.
He has two young brothers, Dylan, 16, and Paris, 12, from his father's second marriage to Keely Shaye Smith.
And in a touching message, Paris wrote today: 'Dear Charlotte, you were an amazing sister and I now understand all great people pass. And you were one of them.
'From you holding me as a baby to seeing you now. You were the most amazing woman, and a true fighter, I will miss you and think about you everyday.
'You are a true inspiration to me, to always keep fighting for the ones you love. You will always be in my heart. This morning I could not stop looking at the picture of you holding me as a new born baby, as I cried and looked I knew you were still with us.
'I wish I could of had got to have my last words with you but i guess not. You have two amazing kids, my lovely niece Bella, and the funny little lukie. I will see you some day. But for now you watch over the family. R.I.P Charlotte Brosnan.'

Meanwhile, Pierce was today pictured back at work on the set of his upcoming movie Novermber Man in Belgrade, Serbia.
It was the first time the star had been seen since his daughter's death. When his 42-year-old daughter's condition deteriorated, Pierce joined his family in London, who were all by her side when she died at 2pm on Friday afternoon.
Pierce last played a widower who falls in love with a cancer sufferer in his latest film, Love Is All You Need.
And in an interview with the Mail on Sunday in March, he said: 'I went through it all, very publicly. Such things draw a mark across your heart and it’s always a part of your life. To watch someone you love have their life eaten away – bit by bit, by this insidious and horrid disease – becomes an indelible part of your psyche.

'It certainly did for me and, of course, when I received this script, the challenge of playing this part was not lost on me.'
In the interview, Pierce - who met Keely three years after Cassandra's death and married her in 2001 - added: 'I know what it’s like to be a widower and what it’s like to find love again.

'So I know there’s hope and that you have to learn to get on with it. Ups and downs are what life is all about. But the memory of Cassie and her fight against cancer is never forgotten.

‘Keely has always been kind and compassionate and encouraged me to mourn Cassie. I think of Cassie all the time – my son Sean is also her son, of course, and he’s 29 now.'
